A Letter
From the Solo-Developer
To: my fellow Makers
February 19th, 2026. I remember it like it was yesterday because that is the day I wrote the very first line of what later became Chamfered. I will honor that moment for the rest of my life.
To me, Chamfered is more than “just another 3D CAD App”; it is my passion and hallmark of my personal journey towards true Independence.
I have therefore decided to launch Chamfered into TestFlight on July 4th, 2026, together with America’s 250th honoring of Independence Day.
Yet, I am not an American in the legal sense – I was born in The Netherlands. And at this very moment, I am working hard to make sure I can keep developing Chamfered as an Independent Developer, and part of that desire requires me to relocate to a place where I can flourish as a Western-European native who has no problem assimilating into American culture.
The Road to Independence
At this very moment, Chamfered is part of that Road – because the public-facing side of Chamfered will be gathered by my immigration lawyers and presented to USCIS for their consideration.
Due to my unique situation, the launch of Chamfered to the AppStore will have to wait until the immigration process is complete.
If you, as a fellow Maker, receive any value in Chamfered’s TestFlight phase, I would greatly appreciate it if you could spread the word as far as you can – being noticed is a major part of the particular Visa I am attempting to obtain: the O-1 for Extraordinary Ability.
A Note to Media Partners
I am currently looking for a US-based media creator with an audience that cares about 3D CAD Software for Mac – to become the exclusive first-look partner for Chamfered. In exchange for early access and exclusive news, I offer you exclusive behind-the-scenes access, the first demo, and the first word on every update.
If that sounds like you, feel free to reach out by clicking on the button below.
I thank you for reading this.
Warm regards,
Nellis
